An innovative community venture has enabled Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service (DFRS) to improve services by generating significant savings, reducing fire-related incidents and increasing safety whilst forging, and sustaining, strong relations within the Cotmanhay area.

A joint project between Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council, sponsored by East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (EM IEP), has developed and launched a kitemark to recognise care homes that demonstrate ‘Dignity in Care.’

By participating in just two e-auctions run by the Office of Government Commerce (OGC) for the purchase of 180 PCs and 20 laptops, North West Leicestershire District Council projected £27,000 of savings.
