Revenues of over £1.8 million have been claimed back by seven Nottinghamshire district authorities who have worked together effectively to tackle false single person discounts council tax claims. This EMIEP funded project saw the councils hire a private company to cross check their records against the electoral register, public records and County Court Judgements and bankruptcies.

‘Notts Bothered’ is a partnership between the Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council and the seven District Councils in Nottinghamshire. The aim of the project was to develop a three year strategy to improve voter turnout throughout Nottinghamshire, targeting young people in particular.

The Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) agreed with the Government to operate a Joint Improvement Partnership (JIP) in each region to support improvement in adult social care. Each region has a JIP programme led by directors of adult social services and a national Joint Improvement Programme Board monitors delivery of the regional programmes.

Welland Procurement Unit has been established as a shared service, serving initially five small councils, with active support and funding from, amongst others, the East Midlands Centre of Excellence (the forerunner of the Improvement and Efficiency Partnership).
