• Single Person Discount Review - To undertake a review of all Council Tax accounts currently qualifying for single person discount review to identify possible awards that have been claimed fraudulently. The project has been extended to Nottingham City Council, who were not a partner in the initial project.
• Joint Procurement of Vehicle Parts (unfunded) - Joint procurement activity on a countywide basis to explore opportunities for collaborative contracts that deliver cost savings and non cashable benefits.
• Lean Systems Thinking Business Technique Training - Delivery of an extensive training programme on Lean Systems Thinking to provide a resource of trained colleagues. Those colleagues will then have the skills to embark on lean systems projects and service reviews supported through these funds to help deliver the 3 percent per annum efficiency gains targets.
• Accident Reduction Data Software - Highway Authorities have a responsibility to record and analyse road accident data and use it to identify measures to reduce casualties. The current software recording this data for the partners is out of date, at full capacity and will be unable to meet future reporting requirements. This project seeks to provide replacement software that will meet all the requirements of all of the partners with web based software. This will; enable all partners to access to all information, improve reporting, and deliver efficiency savings.
• Fleet Management Software - Joint procurement of a web based fleet management system. All partners will be able to view each others information enabling benchmarking and sharing of best practice. New system will enable parts in stock and workshop capacity to be shared. New software will offer greater functionality with estimated annual savings of £7,500 per partner.
• NI 195 (street & environmental cleanliness) Software - Purchase of a base NI 195 solution and PDAs to enable inspectors to use a standard handheld device to capture transect survey data during inspections. (NI 195 requires 900 inspections per year to measure cleanliness for litter, detritus, fly posting and graffiti).
• Implement modern website - Project to jointly procure an updated content management system for Gedling, Rushcliffe and Newark & Sherwood's websites. The new system will enable greater choice as to how customers access services and convenience and increase on line business capability. Savings will be released from procurement efficiencies and through increased on line business which is cheaper than face to face or telephone business. Likely staffing efficiencies as a result but not quantifiable
• Waste Management System - Partnership of Gedling and Ashfield to purchase a waste management package which will provide real time operational activity to both back office and customer services. The software will enable back office to see where vehicles are and redirect nearest crews to retrieve missed bins for example. In cab PDAs provide instant updates to back office so customer services have up to date information if a customer calls in (e.g. why a bin was collected) and to report damaged bins for example. The system also enables a mass of performance data to be recorded
• 1Notts Performance Software - Nottinghamshire County Council will procure a performance management system for use by the Nottinghamshire Partnership. It will be purchased and installed in a way that all LAA partners can access and use it to enter LAA performance data. This is likely to be achieved through purchase of a web based solution. Cashable savings from reduced data entry, reduced ICT support, joint procurement and reduced maintenance costs. Estimated to be £102,342 over three years
• Pan Nottinghamshire e-Tendering Solution - a standardised electronic tendering facility for all Nottinghamshire Districts and Boroughs, allowing the tendering process to be conducted via the internet. This will be based on Nottingham City Councils existing solution. The project will facilitate a collaborative approach to procurement across the sub region and deliver transaction savings not available through the current paper based process.
• Notingham City Children and Families - Integrating information around the family to develop a single view of the families Costs and needs analysis around High Cost Families to create a robust understanding of the costs and sources of funding of a long standing and complex set of services provided by different partners to meet family needs. To develop a clear understanding of how much different interventions cost through creating a cost calculator/cost menu. Build upon Joint Strategic Needs Assessment using primary evidence and service and service user experiences to further develop a social model of need
