Performance Management Benchmarking
Location: Pera Conference Centre, Melton Mowbray, LE13 OPB
Event date: 22 Jun 2010
The East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (EM IEP) would like to invite Directors, Service Heads and other senior officers to this free workshop, providing an opportunity to gain an insight into the ‘lean' approach and hear how implementing
‘lean' practices can help improve services and deliver much-needed efficiency savings.
This one-day workshop is led by Prof. Tony Bendell, an international expert on ‘lean' practices and public sector efficiency, following a series of successful 3-day training courses for officers. A related half-day workshop for Members is also being run.
The ‘lean' approach has been adopted by local authorities across the UK and is having a major impact on services, bringing down costs and speeding up processes. The potential for improved use of resources, staff motivation and customer satisfaction it
represents is impressive. In the East Midlands, 'lean' training courses have proven popular and successful case studies from the region will be discussed in the workshop.
The workshop will describe ‘lean' tools, local case studies and the relationship to ‘systems thinking'. It will also discuss cultural and management issues in ‘lean' change and provides the opportunity for delegates to raise specific implementation issues that they are facing.
The workshop is funded by EM IEP so that it is free to delegates. The group size will be limited to a maximum of 25 delegates.
