Insights into re-engaging young people in education, employment and training

Location: Nottinghamshire County Cricket Ground, Trent Bridge, NG2 6AG

Event date: 25 Nov 2010

Exploring emerging findings from local research

The recent report from the Audit Commission "Against the odds" shows that young people not in education, employment or
training at 16-18 have poorer life chances than their peers and are more likely to be a long-term cost to the public purse. But now more than ever it is crucial that local partners' efforts to reengage young people in employment, education and training are carefully targeted and effective.

TheEast Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership has sponsored a series of local projects using research and customer insight methods (such as customer journey mapping) to explore different aspects of raising young people's aspirations. This informative workshop will provide stakeholders with an opportunity hear the emerging findings from these projects and consider how the insights can inform their practice. Roger Sykes, Head of Studies at the Audit Commission will also present key messages form "Against the odds".
