Performance Management Benchmarking
Location: Trent Vineyard, Lenton Lane, Nottingham NG7 2PX
Event date: 09 Feb 2011
As health inequalities continue to rise in this period of economic austerity, public health is being put back under the control of local authorities and is to be a core objective in all plans and services. For all partners, there will be great opportunities but there will also be immense challenges.
The East Midlands Communities for Health Network, hosted by Nottingham City Council, is organising a FREE conference for local authorities and their partners across the East Midlands to explore the implications of the new Public Health White Paper and participate in discussions on the key issues.
The programme for the day has not been finalised but the conference intends to explore:
- The key messages in the Public Health White Paper
- How the new Health and Wellbeing Boards might operate
- How the new responsibilities for health outcomes will affect Council staff and services
- How Councillors and local authority staff might support public health functions and staff during the transition phase
- How NHS public health teams can add value to the local authority and support the new commissioning roles
- How voluntary partners can better influence and participate in the public health agenda
- How local people can be involved in the shaping of public health services.
There will be keynote speakers from the Department of Health, Local Government and Public Health.
Who should attend?
The event is aimed at Councillors, local authority officers, commissioners and anyone involved with public health and reducing health inequalities.
