Performance Management Benchmarking

Carrying out research and consultation with children and young people

Location: Ramada Hotel, Leicester LE1 6ES

Event date: 15 Feb 2011

A FREE one day introductory course.

The perspectives of children and young people can provide unique and powerful insights for researchers. Consulting them on public services that affect them is seen as increasingly important. Carrying out research and consultation with children and young people requires care and skill. It also raises particular legal and ethical issues. This one day introductory course will provide participants with a good understanding of strategies for engaging young people, ethical and legal considerations and the kinds of methods that may be appropriate.

The training will be small group and interactive including the opportunity to share experience and insight, and look at some real case studies. The course will be delivered by the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby
