Knowledge Hub: connect, collaborate, learn and innovate

Location: Smith Square Conference Centre, Smith Square, London, SW1P 3HZ

Event date: 01 Mar 2011

Organised by: Local Government Group

The 'Knowledge Hub' is a new web platform for Local Government, offering a suite of free on-line software and services.

Whether it's innovation, improvement or performance, the challenge for the future is not just to share conversations and information with each other, but to use this environment to create new ideas, innovate and improve services together. And that's where the Knowledge Hub will make a real difference. As well as bringing our existing knowledge and conversations together, it will let people share data, problem solve and create new applications, so they can generate new ideas and improve services together. It will also tailor the information to you based on where you work and what you do. www.local.gov.uk/knowledgehub is already developing these types of tools now.

Work is under way to develop a common set of efficiency benchmarks, to allow councils to compare their performance on key areas with each other, giving them pointers on where they can improve most and get the quickest wins

The Knowledge Hub will be a free open platform, so that councils can develop tools for themselves in the future, and then share those for free with other councils - potentially saving all councils large development costs for analytic tools. So if you want to save real time and money, don't reinvent the wheel. Find out what your colleagues already know by booking to attend this conference, which is free of charge.

Cost: Free

Who should attend?
Directors and portfolio holders with responsibility for communications, engagement , finance , heads of service, human resources, IT and business change managers
