THE CHALLENGE FROM THE DIRECTORS OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES:
"We need to urgently address the market conditions for these high cost services as costs are unsustainable in the current economic climate. We are looking to combine our purchasing power to achieve significant price reductions without reducing the quality of provision and the outcomes that our young people achieve. In the medium term we also wish to shape the market to deliver more services that are close to the family and community homes of the young people, ie within, or close to, the East Midlands. We are also interested to work with providers to re-design services that can reduce demand for expensive placements and deliver a more imaginative range of effective preventative services."
