Workforce priorities for regional collaboration 2011-2013

Location: Yew Lodge Hotel, Kegworth

Event date: 24 May 2011

Led by Anthony May, Director of Children and Young People's Services, Nottinghamshire and regional lead DCS for this theme

In September 2009 a regional seminar identified some common workforce development priorities that were shared across the region
and could be tackled collaboratively. Since then the JRIEP has promoted the development of regional CAF and integrated working standards and a major new leadership development programme, ALICSE (Advanced Leadership in an Integrated Children's Service Environment).

This May seminar is now being convened to review the impact and progress of this work and to identify the current priorities areas within workforce and leadership development for the coming years that could be suitably supported through a regional partnership approach.

Who should attend?
There are up to 100 places available for colleagues who have a significant leadership role within the children's service workforce in the coming years. Delegates are being invited to attend through three key routes:
• Directors of Children's Services are recruiting the key workforce leads from their local partnerships
• Participants on the ALICSE Leadership programme (www.alicse.com) are invited to contribute and attend
• Colleagues from key partner organisations and networks that support and contribute to workforce activity within the region are also invited.

A plan created by the Directors of Children's Services to tackle common issues in the East Midlands Regional Improvement Plan
for Children and Young People
