The East Midlands Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (EM IEP) of 46 local authorities and 5 Fire & Rescue authorities has a major supporting g role to play to deliver service improvements, efficiency savings and LAA targets."
The East Midlands IEP board is made up of 12 elected members reflecting a political balance in the region and is elected annually by the East Midlands Regional Assembly. Chairs of sub-regional partnerships are invited as observers to the Board meetings.
The board is supported by a 14 strong officer steering group from county, unitary, district and borough councils from across the region. There is also a representative from one of the region's fire and rescue authorities.
The officer board is strengthened by advisors from the East Midlands Regional Assembly, Government Office for the East Midlands, the Improvement and Development Agency for local government, the Audit Commission and staff from the East Midlands IEP support team.
The EM IEP Board reports to an Executive Board drawn from the East Midlands Councils (EMC).
