Following its meeting in late November 2010, the EM IEP Board have agreed that regional improvement and efficiency work should continue. The Board agreed that a small team located with East Midlands Councils will continue to progress the work of EM IEP using a small budget created from regional and sub regional under spending. The areas of business to continue are: improvement, efficiency, productivity, climate change and procurement. This is very positive news for authorities in the region and means that we can all continue to meet the challenges of government cuts head-on.

Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP) consultation

From April, WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) will take responsibility for coordinating the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP) on behalf of Defra and the Devolved Administrations. Defra and WRAP are keen to hear your views on priorities for taking forward the Action Plan and ensuring it continues to add value.
A discussion paper has been written on options for organisation and future work, and ways in which WRAP could provide practical Government-funded help. All stakeholders in the SCAP are invited to submit their views on this via a short online feedback form
Please respond to this consultation by 31st March.
