Local Environmental Quality Project

The last published results of the national Local Environmental Quality Survey of England 07/08 showed the East Midlands was third from the bottom of the English Regions league table. As part of the Efficiency Challenge Programme EM IEP has commissioned a project that has focused upon a number of secondary data sources including the 2008 Place Survey, the 2008/09 British Crime Survey and the flycapture database (Defra). On street interviews with 1,527 members of the public were also conducted. The aim of the project was two fold with a focus on efficiencies, specifically identifying ways in which local authorities can make savings (it is estimated that c£250k could be achieved in 2010/11), and on service improvements by identifying what the region's main issues are and subsequently where resources should be channelled.

All the reports and documents are available to download from the Procurement Hub, a password is required to access these reports which can be obtained by registering on the site.
