EM IEP Newsletter - Final Edition
Welcome to the final edition of the EM IEP newsletter.
With government cuts affecting local authorities across the country, EM IEP and RIEPs nationally have been directly affected. Our government funding ended in March 2011.
EM IEP has now downsized and joined East Midlands Councils and will be running a small programme of project activity using funding from underspendings. The areas of business which will continue are: improvement, efficiency, climate change, procurement, business transformation and a range of "products and offers" which drive our costs.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the commitment and dedication of the EM IEP Board, Steering Group and Support Team who have helped the region authorities achieve substantial efficiency savings and to develop a strong culture of collaborative working and innovation.
We are the highest performing RIEP in the country; our Efficiency Programme (both regional and sub regional) has generated £138m in efficiency savings as of 1st April 2011, collectively the figure is in excess of £700m. A further £194m efficiency savings are anticipated over the next two years as a result of projects drawing to a close in 2011/12. We have also delivered a total of 205 events which saw 6,250 Members and officers in attendance; 95% of these rated the events as either 'Excellent' or 'Good'.
Our website and Procurement Hub will still be active for the next two years, so please do continue to use this great resource containing a whole host of regional knowledge and best practice.
Finally, for more details of this on-going work and the continued support you can receive; please contact:
