Northamptonshire Improvement and Efficiency Partnership (NIEP)

The NIEP programme arose through development of the Northamptonshire Improvement and Efficiency Strategy (2008-2011), published as a response to the national and regional strategies including EM IEP objectives. It proposed a governance structure and collaborative projects to deliver strategic outcomes. In recognition of this strategic importance and need for co-ordination the NIEP Board was established in April 2009, chaired by the leader of Northampton Borough Council.

The NIEP Board includes all Northamptonshire EM IEP Officer Steering Group and Board representatives, together with three additional local authority Chief Executives and Partnership Support Unit officers. The NIEP Board meets each month to review, monitor and give direction to the portfolio of projects making up the work programme.
