Performance Data

Independent assessment of organisational performance and service delivery by local authorities and partner organisations is undertaken and published by the Audit Commission and other inspectorates, including Ofsted and the Commission for Social Care Inspection. Other government departments publish local authority performance data such as the Department for Work and Pensions information on benefit administration.

Although this information is already published on a range of websites, it is often difficult to find and can be difficult to digest in its raw form. It is rarely extracted or presented on a regional basis and compiling the figures from previous years to show trends can also be time consuming.

The following pages present a summary of some of this key performance data, presented in colour coded charts and maps to help promote a better understanding of how the region is performing. This information will also help local authorities, their partners and other public service delivery bodies get a better shared understanding of where effort may need to be focussed to help secure improvements in delivery.

This initial set of data covers a range of scales, authority types, geographical boundaries and organisations. We intend to keep adding to it to build up an overall picture that will help to inform some of the future activities of EMIEP and also help organisations prepare for Comprehensive Area Assessment.
