  • Nottinghamshire Community Safety Board Change Programme - Support for the Community Safety Board to undertake an extensive change programme through four key initiatives: (1) implementation of efficiency and effective use of partners analytical and performance capacity, review of current systems (2) profile of youth crime and develop an action plan (3) explore models of integration of a county based team (4) completion of social network analysis to analyse partnership processes.
  • Reducing Fuel Poverty - Newark & Sherwood, Mansfield and Gedling will work in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust to survey 15,000 properties which contain someone on income related benefit in a dwelling with a SAP rating of < 35 or > 65 each year for the next three years. The aim is to identify where assistance can be provided and help those identified to get the help they are entitled to. Also a pilot study for home energy audits will be undertaken on 176 properties in Newark & Sherwood.
  • Reducing per Capita Carbon Emissions - This project has been developed with Derby and Derbyshire LAAs and aims to become a sub regional approach to tackling carbon emissions. The project will establish a sub regional energy agency, will aid the expansion of an existing Nottinghamshire Carbon Club and provide resource to undertake partner engagement to help partners share good practice and to work with the carbon club to help engage businesses and help them access what they need to reduce their carbon emissions.
  • Greening Campaign - Rushcliffe, Newark & Sherwood and Broxtowe will support communities to reduce CO2 emissions through subsidizing their subscription to the national Greening Campaign. Each campaign is tailored to the community involved. It will provide the community with resources and skills to take ownership of reducing their carbon footprint.
  • Choice Based Letting Schemes - Implementing an enhanced choice based lettings schemes, one in north and one in south Nottinghamshire. This funding will specifically be used to design and implement enhanced ICT that will provide a better service to the customer and be more efficient for the partners as well as enabling robust direct reporting for all relevant indicators. All Local Authorities must implement CBL by 2010, by working as a collaboration joint procurement and staffing efficiency savings can be released.
  • Customer Service Partnerships - There is an appetite within the County for establishing customer service partnerships with various partners. Newark and Sherwood District Council hoped to join with third sector bodies, Rushcliffe Borough Council are in discussions with Nottinghamshire Police and others continue to explore options for shared customer service. The NIEG feel that a ring fenced pot of money, pre-approved by EM IEP for the development of customer service partnership pilots, would be advantageous.
  • Housing Support - This is a project that is already approved and operating within the Derbyshire programme but which has a small impact on Bassetlaw District Council in Nottinghamshire. NIEG have therefore agreed to contribute the Nottinghamshire element of this project to the sum of £13,500 in support of our Derbyshire counterparts. The project involves several authorities working together to produce a joint housing strategy and further develop joint working.
  • Organisational Diagnostics - The project is supporting Nottinghamshire County Council, who will be using the DECATs programme, a proven organisational diagnostic which helps authorities to see where they can deliver the greatest efficiencies.
